Responsible Play Policy
Keeping play in control, and what we do when it is not
Our policy on age, control, limits and help for players of CediCash games, including Golden 15.
The short version
A game should be a small part of a week, never the thing a week is built around.
Who this applies to
This policy applies to everyone who plays a CediCash game and to everyone who works for, or on behalf of, CediCash: staff, agents and partners. It covers three things: who is allowed to play, the limits we build into the game ourselves, and what we do when play stops being healthy.
What we commit to
- Our games are for people aged 18 and over, and we do not market them to anyone younger. Age is verified before any prize is paid.
- We do not offer credit, loans or deferred payment for tickets. You cannot play with money you do not have.
- We publish the limits of the game and enforce them, rather than leaving the decision entirely to the player mid-play.
- We do not design screens to push more spending: no countdown pressure, no "play again" traps, no hidden charges and no encouraging language about chasing a loss.
- Every price is shown before payment, and every payment produces a receipt.
- Any player can stop campaign messages, close their account, or ask to be excluded. Support will do it without argument or delay.
- We treat a request for help as a request for help, never as a reason to restrict a player's entitlement to a prize already won.
The limits built into the game
Some protection is structural rather than behavioural. These limits are part of the game's own rules.
| Limit | What it means |
|---|---|
| One ticket, one price | A ticket costs GHS5, a single low price rather than escalating stakes. |
| Maximum tickets per player, per group | 2,000 tickets, capped at GHS10,000 of spend in any one group. |
| Maximum players per group | A group closes to new registrations at 2,000 registered players, so participation is bounded. |
| Campaign length | The campaign runs for a defined period, with a defined draw at the end, not an open-ended cycle. |
| Message frequency | Promotional messages are capped and only sent with agreement, so players are not pressured by volume. |

Signs worth paying attention to
No one is asked to diagnose themselves. These are simply the things that, in practice, tend to come first.
- Spending more than you intended, or more than you would tell someone about.
- Borrowing money, or selling something, to buy tickets.
- Playing to recover money already spent.
- Hiding your play, or feeling anxious, low or irritable about it.
- Play crowding out work, family, school or sleep.

How we act on what we see
- Support staff are trained to recognise a request for help and to act on it immediately, rather than redirecting the player into a sales conversation.
- Where spending patterns or complaints suggest harm, for example repeated complaints about spending, or an account exceeding the published caps, the account is reviewed and the player contacted.
- We do not use account data to target players who show signs of harm with more promotional messages. Promotional messaging is switched off for any account under review.
- Serious concerns, such as play by a person under 18 or play using someone else’s identity, are investigated under the Participant Code of Practice.
Staff and agents
- Staff and agents must never encourage a player to spend more than they intended, promise a win, or describe play as a way to solve a financial problem.
- Agents who sell tickets must be able to explain how to stop, and must give the receipt every time.
- Breaches by staff or agents are handled as disciplinary matters.
Your information and this policy
Information used to support responsible play is personal information and is handled under our Privacy Policy and Ghana's data protection law. A request for exclusion or account closure is kept confidential and is not shared beyond what is necessary to operate it. If you believe we have handled your information badly, you can complain through the Complaints Procedure, and to the Data Protection Commission.
