Cookie and Tracking Notice

What we store on your device, why, and how to switch it off

The cookies, local storage and tracking technologies used on cediscash.com and its mobile web pages.

Effective September 2026

The short version

Nothing that tracks you runs until you say yes, except what the site cannot work without.

1

What this notice covers

This notice explains the small files and similar technologies that cediscash.com places on your device (your phone, tablet or computer) when you visit. It tells you what each kind does, which ones need your agreement, and how to turn them off. It does not change anything in our Privacy Policy; it sits alongside it and explains the technical part in plain terms.

2

What these technologies are

A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser. It lets the site remember something between one page and the next: that you are signed in, that you have items in a basket, or that you have already answered a question. Related technologies do the same job in slightly different ways: local storage saves information in your browser with no expiry date, and tracking pixels are tiny images that report that a page was opened.

Some of these are essential. If they were switched off, buying a ticket would not be possible, because the site could not remember your session between screens. Others are optional, and we only use them if you agree.

3

The kinds we use

Category

Strictly necessary

What it does

Keeps you signed in, keeps your session secure, remembers your cart and checkout step, protects against fraudulent requests, and balances traffic across servers. The site cannot be used to buy a ticket without these.

Agreement needed?

No. These are required for the service you asked for.

Category

Functional

What it does

Remembers choices you make, such as your language, the group you were viewing, or whether you dismissed a banner, so you do not have to set them again.

Agreement needed?

Yes.

Category

Analytics

What it does

Counts visits and shows which pages are used, so we can fix what confuses people. Data is used in aggregate; it is not used to identify you personally.

Agreement needed?

Yes.

4

Your choice, and how it is recorded

  • When you first arrive, a banner asks you to accept or decline the optional categories. We do not use pre-ticked boxes, and declining is as easy as accepting.
  • Nothing in the functional or analytics categories runs before you agree.
  • You can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings link in the site footer, and the change takes effect immediately.
  • We keep a record of the choice you made, so we can show that your consent was given.
  • Declining optional cookies does not reduce what you can do on the site. Buying a ticket, checking a result and claiming a prize all work with strictly necessary cookies alone.

How to control cookies yourself

  • In your browser: every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies in its settings or privacy menu. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the site from working.
  • Private browsing: opening the site in a private or incognito window clears cookies when you close the window.
  • Mobile settings: phone operating systems offer controls over app and browser tracking, including limiting ad tracking.
  • Previous choices: clearing cookies removes the record of your choice, and the banner will ask again on your next visit.
7

What we do not do

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not use cookies to work out whether a particular person is likely to gamble more, and we do not target promotional messages at anyone under 18.
  • We do not allow third parties to use our site to build profiles of you for their own purposes.
8

How this fits with data protection law

Information collected through cookies can be personal data, and it is handled under Ghana's data protection law and the framework of the Data Protection Commission, as described in our Privacy Policy. Where a cookie identifies you, you can ask to see the information held about you and ask for it to be corrected. Our data protection contact is Dr. Sylvia Dede Atterh (+233 (0) 244 913 981) or support@cediscash.com.
